Another 4* star review - by popular Fantasy/Spirituality author Murray Morison!
"...Cairns draws us into Sandy’s world by deftly weaving the mundane elements of a coming of age narrative with events that have a flavour of the supernatural..."

The Abbey Bookshop
Checked out another English bookshop in Paris today: The Abbey Bookshop
Had a quick chat with the cool Canadian owner, Brian, and a couple of friendly Canadian tourists.
May be able to organise an event there in the summer, plus get them to stock my book.
Also went to the FNAC, but I have to phone some high heidjin guy to see about them taking the book on.

Apparently it's a 'not to be' from Shakespeare - $#*£!
Suffering catfish!
Shakespeare and Company have politely declined my request for an event.
Looks like I'm going to have to find somewhere else for my big launch.
I may just attach myself to a bridge to create some buzz... or maybe launch myself off a bridge!

Hawking my novel to the English bookshops of Paris!
Yestarday, I also went hawking my novel at a few Parisian stores specialised in English language books:
- Shakespeare and Co - they are still considering organising an event for my novel. The events manager, Adam wasn't there, but had a quick chat with Kieran - a cool Irish guy who works there.
- Gilbert Joseph's - their representative added it to his database but said he couldn't stock any until it became a bit more popular, he did offer me some friendly advice and encouragement though.
- Famous store in the rue de Rivoli - who shall remain nameless - gave me a rather snobbish knockback.
- WH Smith - said they would stock it and possibly organise an event in the autumn!
- Brentano's American Bookstore - said they should be able to stock a few. Pascal, the guy in charge, said he'd try to recommend it to anyone who buys a Stephen King novel! He also suggested I check out another author, Caryl Férey (who has also written thriller novels set in Africa).
